From the recipes my Sweetie Once Cooked.
Some 30 plus years ago I was a chef always on the go and being part of a steady relationship had its share of difficulties. When I met my sweetie before I would ask her to share my closet, I had to first find out if she would be comfortable around family and friends. Starting with a road trip to Florida showed me she is an excellent driver and a navigator. We went to some eateries with unusual menu items and soon found that she was also a great dinning companion. A trip to Barbados cemented the relationship. We moved into new digs along the Grand River and for our first year got to know each others habits, friends and common interests. Spent many evenings at Café 13 and others in the area and as we settled in. This recipe was the first meal Cathy cooked for me. This classic sauce is like a ray of sunshine. It wakes up the taste buds and brings on a great big satisfactory smile. Make sure to use fresh spices and good ground beef. Non salted canned tomatoes are better to use. Gather and prep all your ingredients. Adjust the spices to your liking. The aroma of the all spice will fill the room. Makes a great lasagna or stuffed pepper sauce. Just made a fresh batch the other day and it made recall the first tasting and it still is one of my favourites.
