The Alaskan King Crab is here!

The Alaskan King Crab is here!

The First fall harvest of Alaskan Red King Crab are now arriving at the grocery stores. The Red Crab are also ready for the crab boil at a more economical cost. Brought to the tanks still living from the boat aqua tank and sold by the kilo. I had to push my way through the huge Asian contingency at T&T to get at least one crab. One restaurant owner was yelling, he will take all that’s left. The sale is over. I did get a few large red crab legs for a quick seafood Steamer pot. The smaller red crab made a nice alfresco plate I saved some of the broken off  big fat...

Beef Brisket Smoked Low and Slow

Momma! Gotta luv the low and slow bbq smoked beef brisket.             No matter if you slice it or pull it or even sauce it up big time. The all time BBQ favourite is a nice marbled heal fatty hunk of beef brisket. My friend Kerry chopped down a few century cherry trees in his back yard that were damaged in a wind storm and stored the wood for the last 3 years to dry. We used few of the larger chunks and turned them into charcoal to use for higher heat cooking requirements. Made a great fire heat source with even temperatures in the BBQ. The...
Coconut Beer Shrimp

Coconut Beer Shrimp

Coconut Beer Shrimp. O man the famous in season waters to the south produce some of the tastiest gulf jumbo shrimp. These beauties are now showing up at the docks and markets just as Hurricane season unfolds I look forward to getting this premium quality shrimp that disappear as fast as they are caught. Usually shipped off to Dubai and Japan. But this year the trade economy is weak because of Covid  and the number #1 fancy seafood which is sold abroad for many more dollars is showing up here in Ontario. Banana Pecan Nut Muffins

Banana Pecan Nut Muffins

Banana Pecan Nut Muffins. When ever we head out for a BC moment cruising to the many places of interest, I try to whittle down the provisions left at home for the next few days. More often than not, that there is always an abundance of ripened bananas. I hate to waste food and if I can will whip up a quick banana batter and bake off a loaf or a few muffins. This recipe can be made in a loaf tin or equally portioned into a...
