Indo Punjabi Goat Curry.

thekitchenman loves well prepared Punjabi cuisine. I have cooked along side some very good Indo chefs which cooked up some very tasty dishes over the years. My favourite lunch is a petit serving of curry goat, okra masala, coconut basmati rice, a small raw veggie slaw along with a basket of most delicious nann bread.

As the executive chef working for Cascades Panorama Resort during its first two years the long 16 hour days and the 50 staff I was managing had taken its toll. Even the day you were to have off would never come because being in management meant you had to do a shift a week as a duty manager. Anybody who has worked at a ski hill knows that a lot of your staff seems to get over served on a regular bases meaning that you are always juggling to fill the missed shifts. There were three restaurants in the resorts Pine Lodge Hotel, also a 500 seat cafeteria for the daily skiers...

Hot and Sour Soup!

Hot and Sour Soup! Happy New Year! Since the first time I tasted hot and sour soup which was more than four decades ago, it is a soup if made right, fills the body and soul with all the right taste sensations. First to make a good hot and sour soup it takes a dozen ingredients and flavor adding condiments to prepare...

I was shown this recipe by the chefs grandmother who for some 80 years made the family dumplings each day. Now that’s dedication. My chef friend and myself sat around a table and I...

Even the market stores have a BBQ or a wok fryer going full steam somewhere in the store. I found that these store cafeteria style eateries are providing cheap eats for the average street New Canadian. Some of these diners use real plate ware and some just a box or a napkin. Like dim-sum,… only hundreds of more interesting tasty options. This simple Fried Egg with Chili Pork...
Pad Thai.

Victoria Street in east Vancouver has a huge populous of Vietnamese/ Malaysians dot the street with signage that is hard to decipher. I just walk in and check out the menu and look around at who’s eating what. These small eateries are very open most with cafeteria style seating.
