      There was lots of area wear where the LF&C New Britain arm strong cast iron grinder that was attached to the edge of the kitchen table. My brother and I would supply the endless hand cranking power to grind out the family recipe ingredients until our arms were taut from over use. To make it less of a chore I would pretend it was a machine gun and would make the bang- bang machine gun shooting sounds as I cranked the make believe Gatling gun just like they did in the movies on Daniel Boone. Welcome To Mary’s Garden

For over 20 years being thekitchenman I would get most all his seasonal fruit and vegetables from Mary’s Garden. No spray produce and fruit fresh from the farm field and orchards. Just picked produce arrives hourly from the pickers. The berries are in full swing and had this seasons first nugget peas, lettuce, potatoes, cukes, carrots and cherry tomatoes. One very well run garden market store. Happy 53th Year  

Chocolate Chip Fondue

            I can remember my first potato chip experience and have enjoyed eating them tasty fried tatter crisps since infancy. Where I grew up we were surrounded by the snack manufacturers and I remember all the smells as you got close to the factory. Hostess/Frito-Lay Potato Chips. Jacks Snacks Cheese Twists and Cracker Jacks. Dare Foods for Jube-Jubes, Scotch Mints and Girl Guide Cookies Raymond’s Nuts, who made the Oktoberfest Beer Nuts and Hickory Almonds and Cracker Jack’s.
